ORtera consists of two parts: the Compass client and the Atlas server-side software. Both parts need to be installed for ORtera software to function. To see ORtera software on any OS without installing the server-side software, please try our free demo. Before you install ORtera, install a Java runtime environment (JRE 1.4.2 or later) on all servers and clients where you want to run ORtera. Windows, Solaris and Linux Java runtimes are available at Sun's Java web site. For other platforms, see your operating system vendor's web site. Please follow these steps to download and install the ORtera client and server parts: 1. Download the Client Part Download ORtera Atlas Compass (the user interface) for your client operating system:

4. Install and Start ORtera The Compass installers are regular programs; just run the installer to install Compass. Use the Solaris pkgadd command on the Aggregator Host and all Managed Hosts to install the ORtera package.
