The ORtera Atlas Demo is an easy way to experience all the
ORtera features without having to install the server
software or request a license. Simply download the
demo installer, execute it, a few installation clicks, and you
are experiencing ORtera.
The demo uses the same GUI as the real ORtera
product, but simulates the interaction with the
server back-end. The data you
see in the demo is captured from real ORtera
monitoring sessions on a 28-processor Sun E10K server,
and is scaled at runtime based on the monitoring
duration you select when you schedule a simulated
analysis.
Note: The scaling of the data for a simulation is very
simple, so you will not see the variation that you
would see between monitoring sessions of varying
length in the real ORtera product. Therefore,
comparing synthesized data from the demo software
monitoring sessions of varying duration and at
different points in time is not as revealing as it is
with the real product. The purpose of the demo is to
make it easy for you the see the information ORtera
makes available, and how you use all the different
features, and not to provide a statistically precise
simulation.
Before you install the ORtera Atlas Demo, you need to install
a Java runtime environment, version 1.4.2 or later.
Windows, Solaris and Linux Java runtimes are
available at Sun's
Java web site.
For other platforms, see your operating system vendor's
web site.
Download the ORtera Demo installer for your operating system:
Solaris installer (SPARC/x86, any Solaris version)
Linux installer
Windows installer
Mac OS X installer
The ORtera Demo installers are regular programs; just
run the installer to install the ORtera Demo. Start
the demo using the shortcut, icon or link created by
the installer (operating system dependent, see the messages
in the installer dialogs for details).
